I think advanced tyrant for the alien team and plasma gun for the h team should be new classes and upgrades.
adv tyrant = 3 fireballs (regenerable) and 550 hp + 100 damage maul on un-armored human, 70 damage maul on light armored humans and 55 dammage maul on battle suit humans.
plasma gun = 200 ammo (shoots like chain gun) with 9 damage per hit (and 10% chance to stun alien)
I remember a mod that actually gave Tyrant a fuck-huge ball of jizz to shoot that had a gigantic splash radius. It made it ridiculous OP because keep in mind in S3 you will have multiple Tyrants who all can shoot 3 fireballs at once. If there is going to be a ADV Tyrant, I think he should probably have a new passive and increased stats over new abilities.
Also if aliens get Adv Tyrants, then Humans need a upgrade to. You seemed to address this, but:
I don’t think this works since Chain works just fine and this kinda makes the Pulse Rifle obsolete. Once again, RNG is not a good fit for Tremulous imo. I say humans already have enough weapons, they just need their arsenal to be better at killing aliens with new ALT-fire functions or something.
On the gpp Edge based mods, the “conventional” flamer fire became a secondary attach, and the primary attack was a napalm fire ball that would be charged like a lutci but follow a curved trajectory. Upon impact, this napalm fireball would not only have a splash effect, but there would also be a residual burning effect on the surface of impact that would do x amount of damage for y amount of time.
I remember on Unvanquished (although I don’t know if their flamer still works this way), that buildings that were set on fire would burn for a certain amount of time, and could set nearby buildings on fire. This meant that aliens could not build too densely.
This, and it could also be the human alternative to the aliens’ poison. The flamer as it is suk donkey cogs, if it atleast had its own purpose (that is, something else than fucking your own base up) it wouldn’t be so bad.
