Let's bleed eggs!

OK, this is perhaps my oldest idea. There’s one thing that will improve alien’s battle performance dramatically: don’t ban aliens for bleeding eggs and reduce the damage aliens do to eggs to 10 per swipe.

This will lead to better alien bases, since grangers will be well-entertained and will be less tempted to abandon their building efforts and evolve.

Also, at the end of the game both bases are usually devastated and aliens to have to camp it with tyrants. However, players who join aliens usually aren’t too inclined to camp, so camping tyrants are likely to get bored and join the attack, so a lone human with a Lucifer cannon can destroy the whole base while aliens are out attacking.

Overall, bleeding eggs will lead to better games.

Abusing bleeding eggs so you can anonymously grab everyone’s attention is hella fun, but I don’t think its a very good idea. I do think that there needs to be a better system to signal everyone to defend the base and to actually show how many human enemies are near it, perhaps through a custom keybind or a improved Hud widget.

Also, why force aliens to camp base? We should be giving incentives for aliens to want to go out, since they are the most ideal race to camp outside of human entrances anyways. You can’t raid whats always protected.

I’m not fully understanding the purpose of bleeding eggs here. How exactly does bleeding eggs effect the behaviour of your team?

  1. Grangers will be entertained during long build times and build larger and better bases instead of getting bored and evolving.
  2. Camping tyrants will be entertained and defend well instead of getting bored and abandoning the base.

So the bleeding of eggs would be something for aliens to do in their base when there are situations that require waiting?

Ontopic: Grangers should not be entertaining themselves. Bleeding eggs sound like a bad idea because they waste time. They should immediately evolve as soon as building is done, so that they can contribute to the team. Granted, Grangers should have a bigger role in Tremulous like the ckits do with going out and repairing things. I remember this one mod where granger spit made aliens go 3x faster. Shit was crazy.

Hendrich, lamefun is referring to situations where there is a long build timer in progress for the granger, where it would take awhile before the granger could build again, and can’t evolve. One such example might be building the om.

Btw, while we are on the off topic subject of extra things grangers can do, with some mods the granger can heal the om faster when jumping and taunting by it. On the GPP mod Cuboid, granger spit can implant one time use eggs into humans. On NewSource’s Halloween mod, the adv granger is super fast, and can annihilate a human base in about 20 seconds with its hypershuperrapid fire spit.

In that case, why make them bleed? It needs to be more entertaining than that.Alien eggs look like those giant boxing balloons, so why not have them swerve back and forth in the direction its hit by a Granger? Have 10 grangers swiping the same eggs and watch it go crazy. Family fun for everyone!

Let’s make eggs bleed aliens back: alien’s health should be reduced to the same % health egg has (eg. egg has 50 (1/5 of 250) health, granger bled it and now it has 10 (1/5 of 50) health).
