yea… there’s even a post limit when you’re a new member and that sucks because when you’re a new member you post to introduce yourself then people reply to you saying “welcome” or whatever then you wanna reply to them, but you can’t because you just hit the daily post limit. True story, that happened to me

Read over the FAQ, then explore the forums. Your trust level automatically increases after navigating the site enough. It is possible to become a basic user in 15 minutes to an hour. The idea is to have new users get some basic familiarity with how the forums work before diving in. This thread has more info: "New user" trust level is useless .
